At The Imaging Center, our team could not be prouder to offer MRIs to the residents of Kentwood and the surrounding areas. No matter the reason you need an MRI, you can trust that health and patient comfort are our number one priority.
An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is a very common, non-invasive medical test that is designed to take detailed pictures of your body’s soft tissues, internal organs, spine, and more. It can help your doctor diagnose a variety of issues and concerns without the use of radiation, X-rays, or CT scans. Instead of radiation, an MRI uses strong magnets and radio waves to create the pictures of the inside of your body, making it a safer and, at times, more preferable method.
During the testing, you are placed in a large, tunnel-like machine. You will need to remain completely still and we will offer you headphones to block out the loud noises of the MRI machine. Sedation can also be offered to those who struggle with claustrophobia.
Depending on the reason for the MRI, it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Once the images of the scan are reviewed and analyzed, your doctor (and you) will receive the results.
If your doctor recommends an MRi, you are likely a good candidate for this test. If you have a condition or concern that needs to be looked at, an MRI may be necessary. Additionally, if you have a chronic condition that needs to be checked regularly, an MRI can be the perfect option. Since it doesn’t use radiation, it’s much safer to use more often.
