With state-of-the-art technology and a caring, experienced staff, The Imaging Center delivers detailed, high-resolution CT Scans that help your provider make accurate diagnoses quickly. We use the GE Optima 660 128-Slice Scanner, one of the most advanced CT machines available. It provides exceptional image quality and speed with remarkable precision.

At The Imaging Center, we are proud to offer advanced cardiac CT imaging services, including Cleerly and HeartFlow, that go beyond traditional scans.

Before Your Scan

Before your CT scan, please wear comfortable clothing without metal zippers, snaps, or buttons, as these can interfere with image quality. We also recommend leaving valuables and jewelry at home, though lockers are available for personal items.

Depending on the type of scan, you may be asked to avoid eating or drinking for a few hours beforehand—our team will provide specific instructions when you schedule your appointment. Please note that Michigan law requires a physician’s order for all imaging services, so be sure your provider sends us a referral before your visit.

During Your Scan

Your comfort is our top priority during your CT scan. Our advanced scanner features a wide bore design and quiet operation, helping reduce anxiety, especially for those who feel uneasy in enclosed spaces. Most scans take less than 30 minutes to complete.

You’ll lie comfortably on a padded table that moves slowly through the scanner while our experienced technologist guides you through each step. You’ll remain in constant communication with our team, and we’ll let you know when to stay still or briefly hold your breath to ensure the clearest possible images.

After Your Scan

After your CT scan, you can immediately return to normal activities. One of our board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists will review your images to ensure accurate and thorough interpretation. While hospitals may take weeks to deliver results, we provide most reports within 24 hours.

Understanding the Risks

CT scans use a small amount of ionizing radiation to create detailed images of your body. While the risk is minimal, we always prioritize your safety; risks include:

  • Contrast material
  • Low-level exposure to radiation
  • Mild allergic reaction to contrast material (if used)
  • Rare complications for patients with kidney problems (in cases where contrast material is necessary)

Results of Your Scan

Your CT scan results are typically available within 24 hours, allowing for faster diagnosis and peace of mind. Once our board-certified radiologists have completed their review, you’ll receive a secure notification letting you know your results are ready. In addition, a detailed report will be sent directly to your referring physician, ensuring they have the information needed to make timely and informed treatment decisions.

Request a Consultation

The first step toward your imaging procedure at The Imaging Center is a consultation with our care team. During this visit, we’ll review your medical history, including chronic conditions, past surgeries or treatments, allergies, and current medications. We’re committed to making sure you feel informed and comfortable every step of the way; at The Imaging Center, your health, comfort, and peace of mind come first.
